I had no issues (power down or otherwise) running dual cards on two different motherboards. I suspect that you may have a defective motherboard or SAS card. A client of mine did have some issues that we tracked down to a defective SAS card.

Was this Motherboard tested with two AOC-SASLP-MV8 cards installed. As I have found on this motherboard with two cards that the board will not power down properly.
